What is one of the most critical challenges facing VoIP providers in 2026?

And how did we solve it?

Alex Edge
The Gamble

The cost was high.
The risk was higher.

The setup cost was already a serious decision.

The monthly fees made it heavier.

But the real problem was the commitment.

It looked like a serious commercial gamble.

The calculation was simple. And frightening.

To offer our customers what they really wanted - mobile that connects to the PBX - we had to gamble.

We sat in a boardroom with a major telecom company to discuss what everyone in the VoIP industry dreams about: MVNO access with Smart SIM SIP integration.

They placed the contract on the table.

These were the numbers we had to sign for:

£28,500 Setup & Onboarding
£2,800 Monthly Platform Fee
36 months Minimum Commitment

Before the first customer had even said "yes", before we had moved a single bit of data, we were already exposed to £129,300.

For a giant mobile operator, that is small money.

For a VoIP provider, it is a bet on the future of the company.

The risk was impossible to justify.

But doing nothing was not safe either.

So we kept searching for a smarter way in.

The Day the Office Walls Melted

This was our daily pain.

For years, we sold phone systems built around the walls of the office.

But our customers?

They are not there anymore.

They are in coffee shops, trains, hotel lobbies and airports.

When our customer walks out the door, the VoIP experience breaks.

So they start using workarounds.

  • Call forwarding that costs us money and loses PBX features.
  • SIP apps that drain battery, disconnect too often and rarely feel reliable enough for business users.
  • Private mobile numbers that create a black hole in our CRM, reporting and business record.

For our customer, it is frustrating.

For us, it is dangerous.

Because the moment our VoIP service does not follow our customer outside, they start looking for someone who can.

And now enterprises are moving into this problem in a serious way.

Especially when AI enters the business workflow.

Every call outside the system becomes more important. Every conversation missing from our CRM becomes more expensive. Every mobile call that bypasses our platform becomes a blind spot.

We refused to accept that the big players held all the cards.

After an exhausting search for the right route, after testing different companies, SIM models and network options, we found the network provider that could finally deliver the solution we needed.

It was not easy. It forced us to rethink how mobile and VoIP should work together.

No more fragile SIP apps. No more workarounds. No more six-figure mobile commitments before our first customer says yes.

We found a way to turn a private smartphone into a native PBX extension, delivered through eSIM.

In about 60 seconds of digital installation, the customer mobile becomes part of the voice environment we already control.

And this is where it becomes interesting for you as the provider.

The engineering that makes mobile feel like an extension.

A mobile SIM is only as good as the control it gives you.
The BHnet eSIM connects the mobile device directly into the environment you already operate.
It becomes a SIP extension of your VoIP platform.

Native VoIP Integration

Built around SIP, routing, caller ID and call control, so the mobile line behaves like part of your platform.

Local Market Reach

Real business mobile numbers in supported markets, without the MVNO cost or complexity.

Invisible Roaming Logic

Included roaming in supported countries helps customers stay connected when the office moves to trains, hotels and airports.

Your Call Flows

Your numbering, routing logic, caller ID, call handling and reporting rules stay under your control.

Zero-Logistics Deployment

Digital delivery removes stock, shipping and plastic SIM handling, so customers can be live in minutes.

Prepaid Model

Clear prepaid packages help you control spending and avoid bill-shock exposure for you or your customers.

Your Brand On Screen

With the white-label option, your network name can appear on the device through SPN setup, without a monthly branding fee.

Portal + API Ready

Built for providers who need digital onboarding, real-time visibility and automation instead of manual mobile administration.

We built it this way because the market problem was becoming impossible to ignore. Customers were mobile, VoIP platforms were still office-shaped, and every workaround created another gap. That pressure is what pushed us to find a cleaner route into mobile.

Based in the UK.
Not limited to the UK.

BHnet is based in the UK. But the solution we found is not limited to the British market.

Through broad network-provider agreements with operators in many countries, we can extend the same level of control to many additional markets.

To understand exactly what you can offer your customers, it is important to separate the coverage into two categories: local service markets and roaming coverage.

Local Service Markets are countries where local service is currently supported. These are the markets where you can build a strong local business mobile offer.

Roaming Coverage covers additional destinations for customers travelling abroad. It is excellent for continuity on the move, but it is designed for temporary travel usage, not as a permanent local service.

We hope more countries will become Local Countries as additional network agreements are added.

What our partners say

Real feedback from real VoIP providers.

The first providers who integrated BHnet SIMs into their platforms and saw real operational results.

I sell BHnet SIMs to customers who want VoIP features on mobile. There’s a lot of demand for it, and it’s a great solution for such a simple, basic need. In a short time, I’ve already reached a few hundred lines. I highly recommend it.

TalkKosher Monsey, NY, United States

For years, we struggled to provide a simple and reliable solution for our customers needs traveling to Europe, who needed to make direct calls both back home and locally, using different numbers. The BHnet SIM, combined with MOR’s VoIP functionality, gave us the exact solution we needed, with around 99% satisfied customers. Far better than our previous solutions.

Deal Cellular

We tested several BHnet SIMs with our MOR Softswitch for a few weeks. It worked great, and the support was very professional. We have not yet moved to marketing due to other projects, but it is definitely an excellent product and remains on our list.

The World Is Outside. Are You?

We are not looking for every provider. Only the right ones.

BHnet is opening this opportunity to selected VoIP providers who want mobile to become a serious, long-term part of their business.

We are also responsible for showing our network provider that the businesses we bring in are stable, professional and committed to using the service properly over the long term.

For that reason, we may pause new applications from time to time until we are confident in the providers already onboarded.

If the button below is active, applications are currently open. Apply now to secure your place in the current onboarding window.

The questions worth asking before you test.

No. The VoIP-integrated eSIM model has already been proven in real-world use with BHnet for around two years. What is new is the way we are making it accessible to qualified B2B VoIP providers: digital onboarding, a low-risk test stage, clear commercial terms and no need for the usual sales negotiations or MVNO-style bureaucracy.

eSIM-first. The whole model is built around digital delivery - faster provisioning, no physical stock to manage, and a cleaner launch process for providers.

In simple terms, each eSIM can behave like a SIP device or extension inside your VoIP platform. Instead of treating mobile as a separate product, the line can be registered with SIP credentials such as a username and password, so calls can follow your existing routing, reporting and call-control logic.

You, as the provider, are fully responsible for voice calls, numbers and routing. You supply and assign the numbers in your own VoIP platform, just as you would for any SIP device, extension or trunk. Incoming calls and the airtime from your VoIP system to the eSIM are included in the monthly package. For outgoing calls, the mobile network sends the call to your VoIP platform as Leg A, which is included. You are responsible for completing the call to the destination as Leg B, using your own routing rules and suppliers.

You do. Caller ID is handled in your VoIP platform, the same way you manage caller ID for your own SIP devices, extensions or trunks.

You, as the provider, are solely responsible for regulatory compliance relating to calls and numbers. This includes number use, caller ID rules, emergency calling obligations and registering numbers or users with emergency services where required.

You, as the provider, are responsible for SMS. At this stage SMS is not yet available, because we have not completed the integration model for it. We expect to add it soon, most likely through an API-based flow. Incoming SMS should be free, while outgoing SMS handling will remain the provider's responsibility. More details will be provided once the SMS model is ready.

Mobile data packages are purchased through BHnet from the network provider. Packages are expected to range from light data bundles, such as 2GB, through to unlimited options where available.

Detailed package prices are available inside your account after registration.

Because we are not selling the old MVNO route. We keep the model focused, digital and provider-led: eSIM delivery, clear onboarding and a practical test-first process. The goal is to give qualified VoIP providers a fair way to prove the service before taking on a larger launch commitment.

BHnet works on a prepaid basis only. All services are paid in advance. Payments can be made by card inside the portal, and for larger amounts you can contact us to discuss payment by bank transfer.

We have connected the service with Asterisk, and it works very well with Asterisk-based platforms such as MOR by Kolmisoft and FreePBX. It is also designed to work with platforms such as FreeSWITCH, PortaOne and many other SIP-based systems in the market. We are working on a clearer supported-systems list.

This is an eSIM-only service, so it is mainly suitable for newer devices from recent years that support eSIM. Network-provider support is available only for devices on the supported device list, which is available inside the account.

We provide online support, documentation, structured onboarding and ticket-based assistance, following the standard enterprise model for scalable B2B platforms. This keeps support efficient, consistent and commercially accessible as demand grows. Telephone support may be introduced in the future as a paid add-on if provider demand justifies it.

We have a clear SLA from the network provider, with defined response and resolution times that are among the faster options in the market. Full SLA details are provided in the contract after registration.

No. The £300 test fee is not refundable, because we invest real time and technical work into the test. If you continue to launch, the full £300 is credited toward your launch balance, making it a very worthwhile first investment.

No. That's the point. BHnet gives providers a practical route into mobile without the infrastructure, negotiations and overhead of building a full MVNO operation.
